To continue providing care and support for victims with severe injuries and their caregivers or family members, the Association for Victim support Chiayi Branch recently organized a “” The event brought participating families to the scenic Red Ant Ecological World, aiming to foster a connection with nature through outdoor activities. By creating a relaxed environment, the event sought to alleviate the long-term physical and emotional stress these families endure, strengthen family bonds, and promote positive energy.
The event centered around the themes of healing, interaction, and companionship, with a carefully planned series of physical and mental wellness sessions and family-oriented activities. It began with an interactive experience led by a professional occupational therapist, who designed simple activities tailored to the abilities of severely injured participants. These activities encouraged relaxed interactions between the victims and their families, helping to rebuild relationships while enhancing coordination and functional skills necessary for daily life. This type of interaction provided a much-needed outlet for understanding and support in the face of overwhelming caregiving responsibilities.
Additionally, a nurse was invited to deliver a lecture on “Medical Care and Daily Support Knowledge,” covering common physical issues faced by severely injured individuals, dietary and nutritional advice, and practical home care techniques. The talk offered caregivers useful information and guidance to help them face daily challenges with increased confidence.
Staff at the Chiayi Branch understand that severely injured individuals and their families face not only physical challenges but also significant psychological and emotional stress. They also recognize that caregivers’ long-term efforts are often overlooked by society. Thus, this event was not just about getting families outdoors—it was also about creating a space where they could feel seen, understood, and supported by the community.
Participating families expressed their appreciation for such a rare opportunity. They shared that due to the heavy responsibilities of caregiving, they rarely have the chance to go out. This event allowed them to unwind in nature, gain practical caregiving knowledge, and build deeper mutual understanding and encouragement. They felt reassured that they are not alone, and that many people are quietly supporting them behind the scenes.
The Chiayi Branch has long been committed to the physical and emotional well-being of victims and their families. It will continue to organize similar support activities in the future to help severely injured victims and their families navigate life’s difficult periods and gradually move toward stability and hope. Through these family-focused care and support services, the branch hopes to spread kindness and acceptance, empowering more individuals to regain their confidence and courage for the future.
