To enhance the integrity and governance literacy of public service teams, the Chiayi District Prosecutors Office and the Chiayi County Government’s Social Affairs Bureau jointly held the "2026 Public Servants' Professional Ethics Awareness Campaign" yesterday (the 11th). The event aimed to guide public servants in internalizing "administration in accordance with the law" as a core competency. Prosecutor Chen Yu-feng from the Chiayi District Prosecutors Office served as the keynote speaker, pointing out ethical traps easily overlooked in daily public duties. The initiative helps colleagues balance convenient public services with a strict adherence to impartial law enforcement, demonstrating seamless cross-domain synergy between the prosecutorial and administrative systems.
Prosecutor Chen Yu-feng spoke on the theme of "Professional Ethics for Public Servants," providing a detailed breakdown of the challenges grassroots workers face when executing their duties. This workshop emphasized "integrity, self-discipline, and administration in accordance with law," focusing on four major areas:
-
Conflict of interest avoidance
-
The Anti-Corruption Act
-
The Civil Servants Administrative Neutrality Act
-
Common institutional administrative errors
The session aimed to help personnel protect themselves by clarifying recusal procedures and criminal liabilities for corruption. Prosecutor Chen also reminded attendees to strictly uphold administrative neutrality and refrain from interfering in elections. Meanwhile, he offered concrete recommendations regarding common oversights, such as falsification of public documents and procurement irregularities. Through case studies, the campaign seeks to establish behavioral standards and ethical lines of defense, thereby increasing public transparency, eliminating legal risks, and jointly building a clean, capable government that commands the public's trust.
In response to the endless emergence of digital crime and information security risks in recent years, Prosecutor Chen specially shared his "Anti-Fraud Guide: Cherish Life, Stay Alert with Your Phone," reminding colleagues to remain highly vigilant in both their professional and daily lives and to never blindly trust unverified messages.
The Chiayi District Prosecutors Office urges all sectors of society to uphold the bottom line of democracy and the rule of law, warning against breaking the law, and calling on everyone to jointly defend a clean election culture and our hard-earned democratic achievements.
