During the operation, police seized two modified firearms and other related evidence.
After overnight interrogation, Prosecutor Lin determined that there was significant evidence of criminal involvement.
Suspects Chen ○○, Huang ○○, and Wu ○○ were deemed not subject to detention and were each released on bail of NT$50,000.
However, Prosecutors found sufficient grounds and necessity to detain Tsai ○A and Tsai ○B, and thus filed a motion with the Chiayi District Court for their detention and incommunicado status.
The court subsequently ruled to detain Tsai ○A without visitation and to release Tsai ○B on bail of NT$30,000.
The investigation revealed that in the early morning of September 17, 2025 (Year 114 of the Republic of China), the suspects Tsai ○A, Tsai ○B, Chen ○○, Huang ○○, and Wu ○○ encountered the adult victim in Dongshi Township, Chiayi County, following a verbal dispute.
During the confrontation, Tsai ○A and others allegedly fired shots with modified handguns and rifles into a nearby street, causing damage to the glass doors and shutters of roadside shops.
Chiayi District Chief Prosecutor Tsai Tzung-Shi stated that firearm-related violence not only disturbs social order but also threatens the safety of the public’s lives, bodies, freedom, and property.
The prosecution and police have adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward such violence, handling cases strictly to prevent intimidation and disorder.
He also urged the public to remain calm when disputes arise and to resolve conflicts through communication or judicial channels, rather than resorting to illegal means.
This case was swiftly solved within 24 hours through close cooperation between prosecutors and police, successfully preventing the escalation of firearms and violence, and demonstrating their joint commitment to maintaining public safety and order.
