Taiwan Chiayi District Prosecutors Office Receives Teachers and Students from Asia University

Visit to Understand Judicial Practice

 In order to deepen the integration of legal education and practice, a group of teachers and students from the Department of Financial and Economic Law of Asia University visited Taiwan Chiayi District Prosecutors Office in the morning of this (20th). In addition to arranging lively anti-drug and anti-fraud seminars, Taiwan Chiayi District Prosecutors Office also took the students on a field trip to visit the investigation courtroom and the bailiff's office, which the general public seldom comes into contact with, so as to give prospective lawyers a more comprehensive understanding of the operation of the prosecutor's office.

Taiwan Chiayi District Prosecutors Office, in view of the numerous drug and fraud cases nowadays, which are very harmful to the society, specially arranged for the observers to conduct the “Anti-Drugs and Frauds” publicity program, reminding the students of Asian University of the importance of paying attention to the emerging drugs that are popular among the young people, such as marijuana and etomidate (commonly known as “zombie bombs”), in addition to the heroin and amphetamine that are often seen in the news. At the same time, we also explained the common fraudulent practices in recent years, so as to avoid being defrauded, or even becoming accomplices or co-conspirators of fraudulent syndicates. Through actual case studies and interactive questions and answers, the guardians enabled the students to gain a deeper understanding of the patterns and methods of drug and fraud crimes, as well as their legal liabilities and social impacts, in the hope of enhancing students' awareness of the rule of law and self-protection, and joining the anti-drug and anti-fraud efforts together.
