This Office is subordinate to Taiwan High Prosecutors Office. Despite carrying out major functions like criminal investigations, initiating public prosecution, executing public prosecution, assisting in private prosecution, initiating private prosecution, directing the execution of criminal sentences and performing other mandatory duties, we shall also assist in resolving national compensation cases, involving civil actions, supervising township mandatory businesses, inspecting prison functions, introducing common senses of law and inspecting election works. There are one Prosecutor General, certain number of Head Prosecutors, Prosecutors, Prosecutor's Investigators, and Forensic Medical Examiners in this office. Established first class units are Clerk Division, Probation Officers' Office, Personnel Office, Accounting Office, Statistics Office, Civil Service Ethics Office, and Information Management Office. The Clerk Division is divided into recording, execution, documentation, evaluation and general affairs such five sections and Bailiff Office. Besides, the Prosecutor General of this Office shall supervise Taiwan Chiayi Detention Center and Taiwan Chiayi Juvenile Detention House according to law.
